Credentials Required For VE Ham Radio Exam
Pre-registration is required for all VE sessions
If you have pre-registered for a VE Session, please bring the following items with you as appropriate for your situation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Initial Exam (First License): Bring the following: Photo ID with name and address (D/L is perfect, employer or gov’t ID, School ID). A second form of identification showing name and address (bank statement, utility bill, c/c bill, auto registration….). Your FRN Number. $15.00 test fee (cash or check made out to RF Hill ARC).
Exam for Upgrade: Bring the following: Photo ID (same as above). Your present amateur radio license AND a photo copy which must be submitted with your new application. If you received a “paperless” license, please print out a copy from the ULS. Bring the $15.00 test fee (cash or check, check to be made out to “RF Hill ARC”).
FRN’s (Federal Registration Number): ALL NOTE! If you have had other dealings with the FCC (aircraft license, commercial license, an EXPIRED ham radio license from years ago), you may have been issued an FRN. Please bring your FRN to the VE test session as it is now required by the FCC in order to be tested. Your Social Security number is no longer permitted to be used for testing. If you don’t bring your FRN, you will not be able to take an exam. Starting June 29, 2021, an email address will be required.
Walk-ins are welcome. Please bring 2 forms of ID, FRN number, email address, and check made out to RF Hill ARC or cash for $15.00 to the exam session.
